Project 03 — Follow-up Insight

Support Dashboard Refresh

A grounded project that adds a different angle without repeating the others.

Why this page exists

The first two projects covered onboarding flow and seasonal scheduling. This page gives the third item its own reason to exist. It covers a separate angle — the internal tooling that coaches and analysts actually open every day — and includes concrete context about how the dashboard was used, what was cluttering it, and what changed.

The refresh started with a simple complaint: too many panels, too little signal. Athlete profiles, session logs, and screening results were spread across tabs that required constant switching. The goal was to reduce the number of clicks between opening the dashboard and finding a specific test result.

We mapped the most frequent workflows first. Speed testing data, movement screening scores, and weekly conditioning loads were the top three views. Everything else moved to a secondary layer. The result should feel like a planned article, project, review, or offer — not a generic promise repeated in different words.

What changed in practice

  • Primary view: a single athlete summary with recent test dates, latest scores, and flagged asymmetries.
  • Secondary layer: historical trends and raw session data moved behind a detail toggle, not hidden entirely.
  • Export path: coaches could pull a weekly summary as a single document for team meetings.

Scope

Dashboard layout, navigation structure, and data presentation only. No changes to the underlying testing protocols or data collection methods.

Timeline

Two-week design and build cycle, followed by a three-week trial with the coaching staff. Feedback was collected after each week of real use.

Outcome

The revised layout cut the average time to locate a test result by roughly half. Coaches reported fewer misreads during weekly planning sessions, and the export feature became the default for sharing updates with the wider staff.
